Tintilla Estate

Established in 1994 by retired vascular surgeon, Prof Robert Lusby, the Tintilla Estate vineyard spans an elongated 25-acre plot, offering a harmonious blend of nature and viticulture. One of the Hunter Valley’s best kept secrets, this thoughtful family owned and run winery, vineyard and olive grove is a leader in the burgeoning cellar door wine and food experience.

The distinctive entrance to Tintilla Estate is bounded by olive trees on one side and vines on the other as the long drive winds towards the inviting, Tuscan-inspired Cellar Door and winery complex.

The bucolic landscape unfolds revealing additional vineyard blocks of Shiraz, Semillon, Cabernet Sauvignon and the oldest Sangiovese in the Hunter Valley. The vineyard is meticulously cane-pruned on VSP trellising, with vines spaced 2.8m x 1.5m, enabling careful management and a commitment to excellence.

Two separate dams, both functional and beautiful in equal measure, provide a total of 8ML. The estate benefits from a generous 10-megalitre water allocation from the Hunter River PID, with significant irrigation infrastructure, ensuring a sustainable and productive vineyard environment in any season.

The fully functional and equipped winery comfortably processes fruit from the estate vineyard and has in the past had additional capacity available for a contract winemaking revenue stream.

Towards the rear of the estate, a cleared, private 1.5-acre area offers space for future endeavors, potential home sites, or simply enjoying the peaceful countryside.

Brand sales have successfully focused on high margin, direct channels including Cellar Door and the Wine Club. Wine sales are but one component of the onsite offering, with additional revenue streams generated by Tintilla Estate. Across the site, approximately 400 olive trees flourish, primarily along the northern fence line. Artisanal produce including Olive Oil, Olives, Preserves, Tapenades and many other seasonal offerings.
